    ALF™ Locking Pulley

The ALF is a uniquely designed locking pulley system combining an inertia reel/speed sensitive locking system into a grooved pulley wheel. This provides a simple mechanical method of protecting multiple workers in height safety and rescue scenarios or a climb assist system for workers on towers, masts, wind turbines and construction. The unit can be rigged in a continuous loop system, using a large single prussik pulley.

The R-ALF Pulley is the latest innovation in Rescue, Confined Space working and Work Suspension Systems. The R-ALF Pulley has an over-speed brake built in so that the Pulley will lock on and hold when a fall occurs.  The load rated Becket Eye on the R-ALF means that it can be used in combination with Prussik Pulleys to create a 3:1 or 5:1 Mechanical Advantage System.

The unique design of the R-ALF (design patent applied for), means that an internal brake is not required and therefore it is capable of several thousand cycles and many arrests (minimum 12 mothly service intervals apply).

Uses AS/NZS 4142.3 or EN1891 compliant 11 mm static rope.

Alpine Up Belay / Rappel Device

The Alpine Up is the most complete and versatile belay / rappel device ever produced. Developed especially for mountaineering, it can be used with half, twin ropes and single rope.

Extremely advantageous, the Alpine Up belay and rappel device allows self-locking abseiling and can be used in three different belay modes depending on the terrain.

Click Up Mode (hand assisted braking)

    • Belaying a lead climber on multi-pitch sports climbing routes
    • Self locking abseiling using the folding handle

    Dynamic Mode (manual braking)

    • Belaying a lead climber on traditional alpine route or ice climbing
    • Braking friction using ‘V’ grooves
    • Abseiling using ‘V’ grooves brake

Guide Mode (belaying one or two secondary climbers)

    • Independent and simultaneous belaying of one or two secondary climbers
    • Gradual release and lowering of a second climber under tension by placing a karabiner in the proper hole

    Be Up Multi-use Belay

Climbing Technology’s new Be Up is an innovative multi-use belay and abseil device that is compact, intuitive and easy to use. It is suitable for use with half, twin and single ropes for mountaineering, multi-pitch sport climbing and trad routes.

The Be Up optimises braking with all types of rope through its modular braking system and also allows auto-locking and independent belaying of two persons.

The Be Up offers alot of flexibility in a compact, 85 g climbing device. Functions and benefits include:

    • Effective belaying of the leader – The particular shape of the Be Up‘s body allows rope to be paid out fluidly, rapidly and without jams

    • Ability to pay out one rope while the other is locked up when belaying the leader on a multipitch route using two ropes. Be Up is the only such device that lets you do this;

    • Effective, modular braking of the rope – the device’s “V” notches are designed to guarantee better braking control when arresting a fall, abseiling or bringing up seconds

    • Ability to bring-up one or two persons – with auto-locking and each second being belayed independently of the other (GUIDE MODE). The Be Up‘s special shape and the attachment ring built into the body allow you to bring up one or two persons using twin or half ropes with Ø ≥ 7.3 mm. You can continue to bring-up one person while the other is hanging with their rope locked-off in the Be Up

    • Ability to easily unlock and lower a free-hanging person with twin or half Ø ≥ 7.3 mm ropes. Be Up is the only such device that lets you do this, simply by inserting a normal HMS carabiner in the unlocking hole

    • Rapidly switch between modes

    • Keeping ropes separated during abseiling descents – The “V” notches allow you to effectively control the rate of descent without twisting the ropes

    CT Click Up

The Click Up offers great weight saving over heavier, mechanical sport climbing belay devices. It has no levers, no moving parts and works perfectly while belaying.

When weight is directed through the belayer’s rope the karabiner that is attached to the belayer’s harness automatically engages into the locked position. For locking a fall the belayer only needs slight tension on the rope for the karabiner to engage into the locked position, securing the rope automatically. To release the rope the belayer simply pushes the Click Up forward to resume  belaying when it is safe to do so and at the speed required.

The Click Up can be used with a wide range of rope diameters.

The Groove is a hot forged alloy, multi-purpose belay / rappel device suitable for single, half and twin ropes.
The belay device allows the self-locking and independent belaying of one or two secondary climbers. The two lower braking notches position the ropes to control the abseiling speed.

    Specifications:

    • Weight: 85 g
    • Rated: 20 kN
    • Dimensions: 47 mm x 129 mm
    • Rope (1/2 and twin) 7.7 mm to 9 mm

    OnTop Klettern TopStop Rope Brake

TopStop enhances the safety of the climber by minimising faulty belay set up or incorrect and dangerous belay techniques.

In contrast to conventional belay devices, the rope runs across several pulleys within the TopStop and as a result the load the belayer has to bear when lowering the climber is reduced to approximately one tenth of the climber’s body weight. This means a climber weighing  70 kg only generates a load of 7 kg on the belay rope. As a consequence the weight difference between the climbing partners doesn’t play an important part anymore since the TopStop allows a very lightweight person to belay a far  heavier climber.

The TopStop is available with an optional array of mounting brackets for optimum positioning on a wall or ceiling.

Some of the other advantages of this patented belay system include:

    • Easy to learn system for beginners, especially when instructing large groups (e.g. school classes)
    • Safer belay technique that eliminates difficult and dangerous belay practices and incorrect belayer harness tie-in
    • Enhanced safety can be achieved by using a double belay system such as the TopStop combined with a figure-of-eight belay
    • Overweight people can be belayed without any problems
    • New climber – belayer combinations are possible:  adult and child – heavy climber and lightweight belayer  – wheelchair users as belayer
    • Anxious people are more willing to climbing due to this simplified and safer belay technique
    • The number of instructors at group events can be reduced
    • Belay induction times can be reduced and simplified due to the straight forward nature of belaying with the TopStop
    • Ropes don’t twist like conventional belay devices and rope life-span is extended
